We will take you to one of the best preserved medieval castles in Slovakia and even in the whole Europe – to Orava Castle during this day tour. The majestic castle is perched high on a cliff 112 meters above the Orava river. You can walk through the castle with our guide or on your own with an audio guide (mobile app in your phone). It depends on you.
After the castle tour we will take you on a unique ride on a historic train. In the past, it was used for transporting timber from inaccessible mountain terrain. Today, however, it offers scenic drives through the beautiful Orava nature. The ride takes around 20 minutes one way, with a 20 minute stop at the top of the railway track. You can walk to a watching tower, located nearby the top station, to admire the region from above before taking the ride back down.

HOW TO JOIN FROM BRATISLAVA??
Get on the train R603 at 7:27 from Bratislava and get off the train in the town of Žilina at 9:29, which is a final destination. We will meet you at the train station. It´s fairly easy to take the train.

You should book the tickets back to Bratislava after 16:00 or later and you can also walk through the historical center of Žilina.

Itinerary
Tour Plan
We will meet in the morning at 9:00 in Žilina or 8:30 in Trenčin and Piestany.
We will visit the Orava castle first after a scenic drive. After the tour we can stop for lunch in Dolny Kubin or simply enjoy your packed lunch.
After lunch break we will drive through a picturesque country side to the village of Lestiny to visit the church and finally back to the pick-up place or other place upon your request. You will be back at around 15-16:00.
